The conference began at 10:00 am with a short informal welcome note from Ms. Lawrencia Simpson and introductions by the various country teams. The conference overview was given by Mr. Sylvain Browa, ALPI Program Manager. The facilitator for the review workshop was Ms. Carolyn Long.

Objectives of Workshop

Review and assess extent to which:

Ms. Carolyn Long, facilitator of the conference and evaluator of the program in her statement noted that it was time to reflect on the past 3 years of the ALPI program and to evaluate goals, activities and results. This conference therefore provided an opportunity to evaluate the process in a very participatory way, and to reflect in an objective manner. Ms. Long noted further that participatory evaluations were always the best way to review a project. The evaluation would also include interviewing individuals personally.
